Many of you have already heard about this, but I just learned that two of our colleagues won the 2011 prizes awarded by the Association for Spanish and Portuguese Historical Research.
José Alberto Rodrigues da Silva Tavim won the Oliveira Marques Prize for the best article in Portuguese Studies for “Jews in the Diaspora with Sepharad in the mirror: ruptures, relations, and forms of identity: a theme examined through three cases,” Jewish History 25 (2011): 175-205.
Michael J. Crawford won the prize for best first article in Iberian history, 2009-11, for “Noble Status and Royal Duplicity in the Crown of Castile, 1454-1504,” European History Quarterly 41 (2011): 586-608.
Congratulations to them both!
